Lamm kegyelmet kapott. De a büntetés csak most kezdődik, most, amikor a halott város örökre eltűnik a fák között. Most, amikor a világ, mint tépett plakát csüng alá. In case of good weather- which we hope will be- we imagine the afternoons of the festival as a Maypole Celebration welcoming summer and blossoming. While harvest and vintage somewhat still holds the tradition of community spirit, this specific period which preaches the revival of nature, blooming trees, meadows, seems to fade. We would like to draw attention to this beautiful times if the weather also cooperates. So our programmes will be held outside on the Danube waterfront, near the floodplain forest. We would like to build a "tradition" on this, so we don't want to mess the "natural decoration" up. We won't use aplification, stage, only the athmosphere amplifying people. But bring checked tablecloth, picnic basket and blankets.
MEDIAWAVE MAY DAY will be the sum of small and bigger entertaining programmes, relaxing and community building, permanent and time bound special programmes.
If the weather won't stand on our side the programmes will be held in the Danube tower of the Fort Monostor which will be a perfect venue in case of bad weather. (The Festival Cetre and the Cinema Rooms have also heating system!)

The bearly known area of Inner-South-China which lies on the border of Tibet
gives home to numerous small and bigger nations. "The Lijiang Project" band bears the message of these nations. The band builds their modern music on this colourful and diverse cultural tradition. The basic group is complemented with authentic naxi folk musicians. The naxis are a folk related with the tibetian nation living in high mountains. Some groups of the naxis still live isolated and they belive in shamanism. They have their own kind of writing. The "dongba" writing is complelety different form the chinese or the tibetian. It is basically similar to the egyptian hierogliphs. (See the video below.) The groups comes from the town Lijiang which is part of the World Heritage and is one of the biggest caravan towns on the ancient Vietnam- Tibet- Mongol tee road which is more thousand kilometers long - like the Roman Road - but partly used today as high road.
The connection is not a coincidence. If you visited the Romer House in Győr (which has been closed last year) you remember the Tibetian boy which was the background of the satge in the Underground Club downstairs. The picture was made by our painter friend, Wu Jiang from Beijing and was the poster of the MEDIAWAVE Festival 1998. He has moved to Li Jiang a few years ago and mingle dwith the local asrtistic life. Through his connections will the musicians, artists and world heritage professionals arrive to Hungary.

The early music had more in common with folk-rock then jazz, but was always flavored with an eccentric touch of humor. The early work of Humble Grumble was mainly composed by Gabor Humble and Tom Theuns, who already played rather manic performances in the region of Ghent at the time.
