Join! - Waste Ghosts Workshop
WasteGhosts. Street-performance work-in-progress
The Theater Anthropology Cooperative invites you to the workshop Waste Ghosts.
The project's concept: "Bury us properly or else we are coming to haunt you!"
WasteGhosts represents an interdisciplinary venture of Experimental Recycling and Human Ecology. The workshop aims to construct a street-performance in the form of a parade inspired by death rituals, funeral ceremonies, All Soul’s Day and requiem customs from different cultures.
Based on the WasteGhosts metaphor of the souls and matters improperly integrated in the universe cycle, we create giant puppets, masks, flags, costumes, flower crowns, musical instruments. We improvise interactive theatrical and musical scenes.
Participants are asked to bring with them: one adhesive tape, cutter/scissors, one nail, one candle, as much waste as it gets (paper, plastic, cans, tons of plastic bags and PETs, etc.)
WasteGhosts is fueled by the Theater Anthropology Cooperative from Bucharest (Cooperativa de Antropologie Teatrala) and will be part of the International Film Festival Mediawave, Fort Monostor (Komarom, Hungary), between 26-30 April. Meeting point and you can find the complete program of the workshop: Information Office, April 26th, 11.00 AM
