About the situation of the festival and its efforts to renew it

We launched the organization and implementation of Mediawave on a community basis in 2011, more than 10 years ago. Which process has not been implemented in the same rhythm in all our genres. In the musical and other artistic, as well as environmentally conscious attitude, we managed to develop the community approach relatively firmly, moving forward year by year, which culminated in the special atmosphere created in the Monastery Fortress in Komárom. In the cinematic field, however, we were only able to move slowly, and we really had a hard time finding ways to loosen the rigid festival form. The sprawl epidemic shattered our organization two years ago, shattering our staff. In 2022, a strongly renewed, young team will try to renew, put the 32nd year of Coexistence on a new footing in many ways. We think this needs to be done sometimes. The main direction of the renewal this year is to put the film program on a community footing, which we feel we have found open. This will be felt primarily at the main site in Kiscsősz and on Mediawave's cross-border caravan. But several of our smaller, small community programs will also be implemented in the summer of 2022.
