On Saturday evening, 8 May, the decision of the two international juries turned out.
According to it, the Main Prize & the Award for the Best Feature went to George Ovashvili for his film, The Other Bank.
After the award ceremony of Mediawave, Klára Trencsényi and her codirector, husband Vlad Naumescu were interviewed by Kisalföld. The couple were given the Award for the Best Director for their films, Birds' Way.
On the 2nd day of MEDIAWAVE Film Forum conference, there were panels on the international coproductions' possibilities, the collaborations of the regional film funds and the situation of the documentary films, while on the 3rd day there was discussion about the Hungarian distribution system among the Hungarian and foreign film professionals in Pannonia House.
Meeting for friends of films organized by the Association of Hungarian Film Clubs and Film Friends started yesterday and will last until Sunday. The event, which is actually called for as a professional training, is organized three times a year in the countryside of Hungary by the Association of Film Clubs, with the aim of bringing up a new generation of movie audience with better understanding of it and also bringing closer to each other the professionals and the audience. The topics of the event include screenings before the premieres, questions and answers among the audience and the directors, professional lectures.

The 20 year-old MEDIAWAVE asked 20 former jury members to select the best 20 films from the 20,000 which have been submitted to the Festival for 20 years. The film selection will be shown in the 20th MEDIAWAVE Festival, in Szombathely. Among the films you can see such favourites as The Waiting Room or Gagarin, but - after a long time - Mother Dao The Turtlelike and Dorogi-Roads will be screened, too.
In the jury, Boris Mitic, Peter Lataster and Radu Igazság will watch and evaluate the animations, experimentals and documentaries in the 20th MEDIAWAVE International Fim and Music Festival.
