Hereby we would like to honour the memory of our friend, Tuncel Kurtiz, died on the 27th of September. We met this generous great man during the 'Festival on Wheels' in Kars, East Turkey, where we were eagerly studying the coomon roots of Hungarian and Turkish language and made a short film together in a local tea house. The title is 'Tamam', featuring: Tuncel Kurtiz. Worth to see.
A year later he was our guest at the MEDIAWAVE Festival, as the grand vizier of a group of Turkish artsists. The festival visitors immediatelly surrendered to the Turkish troop...
Unfortuatelly, from among this group, an other friend of us, the great chello player, Reyent Bölükbasi also passed away last year. Let's remember them with their performance at Mediawave 2004.
May you rest in peace, dear friends!

This film here below has just arrived from China and it is strongly connected to the MEDIAWAVE Festival which has recently closed its gates. The film is about Miklós Both's cooperations with Chinese musicians. We were together with Miklós in Lijiang, near Tibet, in October and met the musicians in the film there. 10 artists who can't be seen in this film but born in this city visited our festival and became emblematic figures of the Gathering. Although Miklós is still in China, hopefully we can listen to his Folkside concert with Chinese guest musicains at the Ördögkatlan Festival in the beginning of August.

Dj Pozor, based in Prague, has sent us a clip about his Balkan party at MEDIAWAVE. You can see that the festival guests and visitors were dancing together with the csángó women in folk dresses. Very soon after the party started, Pozor had some supporters: Bulgarian drummers, Benke Grátzy with his big drum and Csobán Sára with his saxophon made the party become more Balkan. See the clip below in the 'details'.
