Even the catastrophical weather conditions couldn't stop MEDIAWAVE Festival's jazz and environment weekend in Őriszentpéter. Surprisingly - even for organizers - the shed theater's hall was filled for the excellent international jazz concerts. Romungro Fiúk, a band from Csorna that counts as MEDIAWAVE Festival's own house band, and that got a push in the acoustic-international ethno workshops of György Ferenczi, boosting their musical development, was recently awarded by FRINGE Pécs2010 Festival's special award. At the same time they got the opportunity to participate in the international talent programme Roots&Routers. Congratulations to Vilmos Csuha and Péter Horváth!
The third weekend of MEDIAWAVE Festival contains several special and unique program, while it also steps over the borders. Its venues are: Őriszentpéter (HUN), Rudersdorf (AUT) and the event will be closed by a picnic at the three countries' (Austria, Hungary, Slovenia) borderlines' meeting.

Selected photos are available in the photo gallery from the photo workshop that ended on 8th May 2010. After the festival, more pictures will be available on the web on the work and atmosphere of the workshops, and the seven ready-made films of the young filmmakers will also be uploaded along with the final concert of the music workshop, led by György Ferenczi and Gabriella Tintér. On Passport Control 18. workshops, young Roma and Hungarians worked in cooperation, supported by the Norway Grants.
The artist mostly looked forward to was the "godfather of rap", Gil Scott-Heron on the second weekend of MEDIAWAVE festival. But the musical centre of gravity was in the end: Baba Zula from Istanbul has taken all the credits - in magic, sight and energy.

Only weather chilled out MEDIAWAVE Festival that moved to Szombathely this year. On its 20th occasion the well-known quality has been presented at the film and music muster.

On Saturday evening, 8 May, the decision of the two international juries turned out.
According to it, the Main Prize & the Award for the Best Feature went to George Ovashvili for his film, The Other Bank.
After the award ceremony of Mediawave, Klára Trencsényi and her codirector, husband Vlad Naumescu were interviewed by Kisalföld. The couple were given the Award for the Best Director for their films, Birds' Way.
On the 2nd day of MEDIAWAVE Film Forum conference, there were panels on the international coproductions' possibilities, the collaborations of the regional film funds and the situation of the documentary films, while on the 3rd day there was discussion about the Hungarian distribution system among the Hungarian and foreign film professionals in Pannonia House.
