ON THE ROAD online film programme 2017
The online filmfestival has an own site, click here and watch full movies.
We had lots of approaches in our mind when we first thought of the ON THE ROAD category. We were strongly impressed by the life of people being on the road due to outside or lifestyle pressures (gypsies or other nomadic or natural groups), individuals or their special communities (hippies, vagabonds), the destiny and possibilities of refugees seeking their places. Different intellectual journeys of artists, scientists or average people also appeared to us.
We were greatly surprised that film makers also had varied interpretations of the category: more than 15 percent of the record number of entries we received this year were submitted to the ON THE ROAD competition as well. We must say that the authors’ intention was not always clear to us, but if it was a high quality film, we decided to show it to the public. Let the audience’s votes and the professional jury judge over the films in competition.
It is important to note, that the Online International Film Competition is different from the 'classic' MEDIAWAVE International Film Competition. There are a couple of films to be shown in both competitions and this is indicated on the film site.
