On his quest to break the boundaries of traditional art, renowned, mysterious still photographer Andrei Berg meets a beautiful ingénue by the name Marina. Marina turns out to be deaf and mute. She’s an avid lip reader and communicates by passing notes. Andrei invites Marina to his house for a portfolio shoot. Andrei’s talent and passion for the art blows Marina away. One thing leads to another and she agrees to spend the night. Andrei takes the couch in the living room and catches Marina off guard by taking snap shots of her in the dark in the middle of the night.
The unique passion story that started so promising and then took such a horrific turn slowly turns into a twisted nightmare.
The psychological duel of these intricate and complicated characters is the backbone of the dramatic structure of the story. Andrei is not the typical sadist or a maniac, he is first and foremost a talented artist. And everything he does with Marina, he makes especially for the sake of his art.
