The generational movement with marxist-anarchist intellectual roots included the French student riots, the American peace movements, the Italian-German extreme left terror groups in the West and the Prague spring and anti-communism in general in the East.
In culture, Jim Morrison, Allen Ginsberg, Andy Warhol, the rock & roll and pop, the hippie movement and the flower children appeared. Jimi Hendrix’s Electric Ladyland formation and the Rolling Stone’s Beggars Banquet album was established. The Yellow Submarine Beatles film was screened in movie theatres, Juraj Herz’s Chremator, Lindsay Anderson’s If and John Cassavets Faces were produced. The experiences of the long haired girls and boys and Bertolucci’s Dreamers are sensible reflections of the events and the revolt against the regime.
Remembering the 50th anniversary of the symbolic year of changes that has turned the world upside down from both social and cultural aspects, we would like to capture the reforming reflections found in artistic movements against the actual ruling canons.
