Alan HEIM (USA)

 

With a career spanning over 30 years, Alan Heim, A.C.E, is one of Hollywood's most distinguished editors. Alan won an Oscar, BAFTA and Eddie award for All That Jazz. He was also nominated for an Oscar for Network. Alan began his editing career on Sidney Lumet's The Seagull, and went on to cut Lenny, Hair, American History X, The Notebook and many more. He has worked with Mel Brooks, Milos Forman, George Roy Hill, Nick Cassavetes, Martha Coolidge, John Hughes and Stephen Frears. He is currently President of American Cinema Editors (A.C.E).

Mira FORNAY (SLK)

 

Mira Fornay was born in Slovakia. She attended film school at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, Czech Republic, (FAMU) in 1997, studying fiction directing. After graduating with her diploma film, Small Untold Secrets, in 2002, she continued her studies at the National Film and Television School in the UK (NFTS), completing her diploma film – a low-budget exercise entitled Alzbeta – in 2004. Her award-winning shorts have been shown at numerous international film festivals. Her first feature, Foxes, saw its world premiere in September 2009 at the 66th Venice Film Festival, competing in the prestigious International Critics’ Week section.

Jos STELLING (NED)

 

Jos Stelling is a Dutch film director and screenwriter. He has directed 12 films, and is working on his new film (release date early 2011) The Girl and Death, in which Dutch actress Sylvia Hoeks will play the lead role. He made his debut as a film director in 1974 with ‘Mariken van Nieumegen’, which was was selected for the official Cannes competition in 1975. In 1981 he founded the ‘Dutch Film Days’ , he continued to serve as chairman and director until the 1991 edition. After he abdicated the festival was renamed the Dutch Film Festival. Jos Stelling is founder and owner of two arthouse cinemas in Utrecht, Springhaver (since 1978) & Louis Hartlooper Complex (since 2004).

PÁLFI György (HUN)

 

Born in Budapest in 1974, György Pálfi joined the Hungarian University of Drama, Film and Television in 1995. There, he directed several short films. Hukkle, made in 2002, his first feature was invited to more than 100 international film festivals worldwide and won several recognitions including EFA's European Discovery 2002 - Fassbinder Award. Taxidermia, his second feature was awarded the Main Prize, Best Supporting Actress and Actor, Best Art Director, Student Jury's Main Prize and the Gene Moskowitz Prize at the 37th Hungarian Film Week in Budapest.
