ErotikArt Exhibition at MEDIAWAVE 2009

As a revolutionary idea - and hopefully a new tradition to follow - the 19. MEDIAWAVE Festival is accompanied by a fine-art exhibition. This years major topics are the Sexual Revolution of ’69 and the Global Warming.

The main aim of the two festival organizers Ákos Bánki painter and festival assistant Zsofia Rechnitzer was to realize a contemporary fine art exhibition on the 40th anniversary of the Sexual Revolution of ’69.

It has been long since the last initiation addressing that segment of contemporary art in which erotics appear on a daily basis.

The exhibiting artists were invited to show their artwork. Invitations were specially concentrated on artists under 40 but several “seniors” of fine art applying erotics as major topic are expected to exhibit as well.

István ef. Zámbó – Sky scrapers making love

The exhibition is patroned by Dr. János Rechnitzer art collector.

Location: building of MTA-RKK-Nyuti, Győr, Liszt Ferenc u. 10. The building is downtown close by the festival centre Rómer-Ház.

The 8 day event will be colored by several performances, concerts, lectures and exhibition tours.

Leneke Szilágyi – The arrival of Marcika

The exhibition is to be continued in June 2009, in Budapest, at the B55 Contemporary Gallery. The future exhibited artworks are reflections to erotics created by young abstract fine artists. Catalogue of the exhibition will be released by the occasion.
The catalogue (80 pages, 20x20cms) provides opportunity for each artist to present one of his exhibited pieces.
