ANA-CRISTINA LEONTE & L'ENTOURAGE
„The idea of the project is older but we actually materialized it last summer. Its music is generated by the interplay between musicians from different backgrounds. Ferenc is the expert in Romanian traditional art (Romanian dance, folklore) and had this wonderful initiative, to bring to life some old songs, especially from Bucovina. On the other side, the voice and the guitar, bring a jazz flavour, meaning that we try to combine a modern aproach with folk music without affecting the autenticity and the deepness that reveals the true Romanian spirit. The percussion blends in perfectly acting as the binder between the two worlds: old and contemporary. In addition we will perform some compositions of mine, in Romanian language, and maybe some in English to give the project a soft international touch.”

Ana-Cristina about herself:
Despite the 23 springs I got to live:) I have a 19 years music experience. At the age of 4 I had my first stage contact. I studied classical violin and vocal technique. Soon I will finish my degree in the Evolution of Jazz Vocal Technique at the National Music University of Bucharest. Over the years music thought me a lot of things; one of them is that all the approaches I had, pop singing, orchestra, chamber music - string quartet, my rock-folk band Odyssey, jazz vocal projects, all the musicians I played with, places I saw, sounds I've heard, each one of this things represents a piece of a big puzzle, the image of the artist I tend to be. Music is the language I use to communicate, to express my ideas, to share my feelings, and if my work changes something inside those who listen to it, then my aim as human is achieved.

On the 4th of May, 2013, avoiding the protocol-centered award ceremony clichés of big film festivals, the organisers attempted to find a more human-centered and personal form of giving the awards and closing the 23rd Gathering in the Fort Monostor.
